What Wyrm is.

An open movement against mass surveillance. It builds free tools that make the watching visible and let you switch it off, and it gives away everything it knows. There is nothing to buy, nothing to sign up for, and nobody who owns it.

The facts.

Everything here is checkable. If any of it stops being true, this page is wrong and should be fixed.

What it is
An open movement against mass surveillance and mass control.
Founded
2026, in Italy.
Behind it
One person, sixteen years old, and everyone who has joined since.
Structure
Not a company. No investors, no shareholders, no board, nothing for sale.
Licence
GNU AGPLv3. The tools can never be taken closed, by anyone, including whoever started them.
Funding
Donations, and nothing else. No ads, no sponsors, no data sold.
What it makes
Free tools, software and hardware, and a public guide to getting out from under surveillance. See the tools.
What it keeps
Nothing. The tools run on your machine, and this site has no analytics, no cookies and no accounts.

Why it exists.

Because being watched stopped being something that happened to you and became something you agreed to on page nine of a contract. Almost every tool sold as a fix for that is owned by someone with a reason to keep you watched, or asks you to trust a company you cannot inspect.

So Wyrm builds the other kind: tools you can read, that run on your machine and answer to nobody. The full argument, and what the tools are held to, is in the manifesto.

How it works.

Wyrm is meant to outlast whatever it happens to be building this year. These are the rules that stay the same as it grows.

A tool ships when it works.
Not when it is announced, and not when it demos well. Until then it says so plainly, and the page tells you exactly which parts are proven and which are still on paper.
The limits are published with the features.
Every tool states what it cannot do, next to what it can. Overselling safety is worse than selling nothing, because somebody leans on it and gets hurt.
Anyone can check the work, or take it over.
It is all open, so you never have to take a claim on trust. And because of the licence, if this project ever went bad or simply stopped, the tools stay free and someone else can carry them on.
It grows by being passed on.
There is no ad budget and there never will be. It spreads because someone tells one person who is being watched that there is a way out, and because the useful parts are free to copy.

One person started it. Nobody owns it.

Wyrm was started by one person, sixteen years old, in Italy. That is not a disclaimer, it is the point. There is no company behind the curtain, no investor to answer to and nothing being sold about you, because there is nobody here who could sell it.

It is also why the licence matters more than the person. Everything is AGPLv3, so nobody has to trust me for very long, and nothing here depends on me being around forever.

There is no roster and no rank. Use the tools, pass them on, report what breaks, help the person next to you, and you are as much a part of this as I am.
